FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

  • At this time I only offer services from the comfort of your own home. Who wants to waste time commuting? AND you can squeeze in a session during your lunch break!

  • I charge $100/session and $120 for EMDR (see more here). At this time I accept payments by HSA, Credit Card, Debit Card, or cash apps.

    I offer a sliding scale to those who need it and apply.

    WHY DON’T I TAKE INSURANCE? To pay for services, insurance companies require a diagnosis. First off, a diagnosis sticks in your medical record permanently, and secondly, a lot of clients who work with me don’t necessarily meet the requirements for a diagnosis. Choosing cash pay:

    • Offers more privacy

    • Offers more flexibility (insurance companies can dictate the need, frequency, and duration of therapy)

    • Quicker access to services

  • Therapy can assist with a variety of challenges such as anxiety, depression & other mood disorders, trauma, marital conflicts, LGBTQIA+ issues, communication issues, PTSD, life transitions, grief & loss, low self-esteem, building boundaries, and more!

    I work with highly motivated individuals & couples who want to be asked the hard questions, explore their inner world and deepen their understanding of how past experiences are keeping them stuck in patterns that no longer serve them.

  • If you're experiencing distress, difficulty in daily functioning, or dissatisfaction in your personal or relationship life, therapy can be beneficial. Seeking professional help is a positive step in addressing and resolving these issues.

  • Associates licensed therapists are able to offer cheaper rates. They are also under direct supervision of a seasoned therapist, which ensures that you receive comprehensive care. Associates level clinicians are recent graduates of Master’s programs, so have access and insight to the latest, evidenced-based practices and therapy modalities.

  • In the first session, we'll discuss your concerns, goals, and any questions you may have. I'll explain the therapeutic process, establish a comfortable rapport, and work with you to create a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.

  • YES. Confidentiality is a fundamental part of therapy. I'm legally obligated to keep our discussions confidential, with few exceptions (e.g., imminent harm to self or others). We'll discuss confidentiality further during your first session and you will be provided the limits of confidentiality in your initial paperwork.

  • I am rooted in a systemic and holistic lens. I often use CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), IFS (internal family systems, i.e. parts work), and EMDR (trauma therapy).

    For couples I typically use Emotionally Focused Therapy, Attachment Theory, and principles from The Gottman Institute.

    However, Master’s training has provided me with a wide array of evidenced-based therapy approaches, and since every individual/couple is unique, therapy is catered to you.
